The Travelodge by Wyndham brand session at the Wyndham 2025 Global Conference in Las Vegas, gave the Travelodge brand the opportunity to recognize hotels and staff that go above and beyond in many categories to serve as guests’ Basecamp for Adventure. The Scott King Award was created in 2022 to celebrate hospitality professionals that go above and beyond for the hospitality industry and their community. For 20 years, the owner of the Travelodge by Wyndham Weyburn, Saskatchewan; George and the Siourounis family, have been going the extra mile by running events like the annual charity golf tournament, which has raised nearly $400,000. Donations have supported medical equipment for the Weyburn General Hospital, the Weyburn Ambulance, supporting the Continuing Care Assistant and practical nursing programs at Southeast College and Inclusion Weyburn and Envision for the last three years in a row.

As George was unable to attend the conference this year, Trevor Hagel, Executive Vice President, Operations, Travelodge Canada (pictured) accepted the award on his behalf. “I would like to offer our sincere congratulations to the Siourounis family for winning this award.
